Effective June 18, 2009, Adobe Media Player no longer contains third-party content in the default catalog. As part of our initiative to streamline business priorities, we made the decision to refocus our efforts away from content aggregation. Accordingly, the catalog in now provided by Adobe TV, which consists of demos, training, and tips for Adobe products and services.

Please note that this change does not preclude third-party content owners and publishers from distributing their content in Adobe Media Player on their own. They can still create RSS feeds just like before and distribute those feeds via badges on their own websites, or end users can manually subscribe to them. These shows that are subscribed to will then appear in the user's My Favorite Shows tab inside Adobe Media Player, and new episodes will automatically be pushed to the user's home page as soon as they become available.

Content owners/publishers are also free to monetize their content with in-stream ads, banners, and overlays. Adobe does not charge any fees or commissions for this service. However, it is the content owner's responsibility to ensure that feeds are created according to the specifications laid out in the Adobe Media Player Publishing Guide.

For a technical overview of Adobe Media Player and for instructions on how to create RSS feeds and enhancements like advertising, measurement, and badge creation, download the CDK files in the box on the right.
